Meta analysis of randomized controlled clinical research literature for acupuncture treatment of obesity-type polycystic ovary syndrome

Objective: To systematically evaluate the clinical efficacy of acupuncture in the treatment of obesity-type polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), to provide a theoretical basis for acupuncture treatment of obesity-type PCOS. Method: Retrieving databases in China, Wip, PubMed, Springer Link, etc. Literature on the treatment of obesity-type PCOS , combined analysis of factors using fixed or stochastic models. Results: 443 patients with obese PCOS were included in 6 studies. ME-TA analysis showed that acupuncture treated with obesity type PCOS were better than the control group [Total effective: RR Combination = 1.40, 95% CI was [1.26,640. 1.56], Z=6.18, P^0.05 ; Healing rate: I2=0% ~ 50%, P=0.98.RR Combin=1.97, whose 95% CI is [1.38,2.83], Z=3.70, P≈ 0.05], and the difference is statistically significant. Conclusion: acupuncture or acupuncture combined with other therapies have exact efficacy on obese PCOS, but due to the low quality and small, also requires higher quality, large sample, Multi-center randomized clinical studies underpin the results of this experiment.
