INTERVENTION: E02.190.044 Electroacupuncture group: 25 women with abdominal fat will be submitted to 10 sessions (twice a week) of electroacupuncture with disposable needles at points E28, E26, E40, BP6, VC6, VC9, R14 using the EL 608 electric stimulator with application time of 40 minutes, frequency of 40 Hz, intensity of 12 to 23 V and wave 390 us Running group: 25 women will perform 10 running sessions (twice a week, preceded by stretching exercises of all muscle groups of the lower limbs for 10 minutes and running on a treadmill for 30 minutes, with 65% of maximal heart rate = 220 ‐ age) and speed varying according to the physical capacity of each participant. Control group: 25 women will not receive any treatment resource and will be reevaluated for the time corresponding to the electroacupuncture and control groups G11.427.410.698.277 CONDITION: C18.654.726.500.697 E00‐E90 Localized adiposity; Obesity, abdominal ; E65 ; C18.654.726.500.697 SECONDARY OUTCOME: Secondary outcomes are not expected ; ; ; ; INCLUSION CRITERIA: University students; women; age between 18 and 30 years; White breed; been sedentary for two months; presence of abdominal adiposity and flank region; Body Mass Index classified as normal or overweight PRIMARY OUTCOME: Expected outcome 1; Decreased waist circumference measured at the midpoint between the lower rib margin and the iliac crest at the narrowest point of the trunk and measured at the circumference of the abdomen 2.5 centimeters below the umbilical scar; both made with tape measure and graduated in centimeters Expected outcome 2; Increased skin temperature (in degrees Celsius) in the abdominal region by means of the Flir Systems® infrared thermography camera with digital image processing, thermal sensitivity of 0.08 ° C in a spectral range of 3 to 14 micrometers; with images captured in a room with an ambient temperature of 22ºC, absence of sunlight and illumination by cold light (fluorescent) lamps. The participant should keep the evaluation site naked, in the orthostatic position with united feet, remaining relaxed, with the camera positioned 1.2 meters away from the assessed region. A period of 15 minutes of exposure will be expected so that the skin enters in thermal equilibrium with the temperature of the room, later Expected outcome 3; Reduction of adipometry (skin fold) by means of a scientific analog adipometer (Cescorf®), in millimeters. A manual skin and fat crease will be performed with the thumb and forefinger, detaching it from the muscle tissue. Then, the adipometer clamp will be placed 1.0 cm below the manual fold, waiting two to three seconds to perform the reading, in the right hemisphere of the abdominal and supra‐iliac skin folds Expected outcome 4; Reduction of the percentages of water, fat and abdominal fat evaluated by the bioimpedance balance with the participant in the orthostatic position and feet supported at the base of the balance Observed outcome 1; There was a decrease in the waist circumference measured at the midpoint between the lower rib margin and the iliac crest at the narrowest point of the trunk and measured the circumference of the abdomen 2.5 cm below the umbilical scar; both made with tape measure and graduated in centimeters. Data collected 1 day before and one day after the application of the resource Observed outcome 2; There was an increase in skin temperature (approximately 2 degrees Celsius) in the abdominal region by means of the Flir Systems® infrared thermography camera with digital image processing, thermal sensitivity of 0.08 ° C in a spectral range of 3 to 14 micrometers; with images captured in a room with an ambient temperature of 22ºC, absence of sunlight and illumination by cold light (fluorescent) lamps. The participant should keep the evaluation site naked, in the orthostatic position with united feet, remaining relaxed, with the camera positioned 1.2 meters away from the assessed region. A period of 15 minutes of exposure will be expected so that the skin enters in thermal equilibrium with the temperature of the room, later. Data collected 1 day before and one day after the application of the resource Observed outcome 3; There was a reduction of adipometry (skin fold) by means of an analog scientific adipometer (Cescorf®), in millimeters. A manual skin and fat crease will be performed with the thumb and forefinger, detaching it from the muscle tissue. Then, the adipometer clamp will be placed 1.0 cm below the manual fold, waiting two to three seconds to perform the reading, in the right hemisphere of the abdominal and supra‐iliac skin folds. Data collected 1 day before and one day after the application of the resource Observed outcome 4; There was a reduction in the percentages of water, fat and abdominal fat evaluated by the bioimpedance balance with the participant in the orthostatic position and feet supported at the base of the balance. Data collected 1 day before and one day after the application of the resource
