Aim: To observe the effect of Yinyanghuo and Anchun compound on the immunologic function of mice with hypoimmunity. Methods: The experiment was conducted at the Natural Drug Laboratory of the Three Gorges University Medical College from September to October 2005. 1 Thirty male Kunming mice aged 3-4 months with body mass of 20±2 g were randomly assigned into three groups: Blank control group, model group and treatment group with ten mice in each group. 2 Blank control group: The mice were fed with normal diet without any treatment; the model group: the mice were intraperitoneally injected with 80 mg/kg cyclophosphamide once daily and orally saline 25 mL/kg every day to prepare the hypoimmunity model; the treatment group: the mice were intraperitoneally injected with 80 mg/kg cyclophosphamide once daily to establish the hypoimmunity model, meanwhile, the Yinyanghuo and solution of Anchun compound powder were infused into the stomach of the hypoimmunity mice model, 25 g/kg daily [the compound power was from the Yinyanghuo and Anchun Compound capsule (Yin-Chun capsule), which was prepared by the First Clinical Medical College of Three Gorges University and the People's Hospital of Changyang and composed of Yinyanghuo, Anchun, Roucongrong and other Chinese herbs. The Yin-Chun capsule was hospital preparation, 2 g per pill]. All the three groups were given 10 days intervention. 3 10 days later, the spleen was removed to prepare the spleen cell suspension, and the T cell subpopulation of the spleen tissue was examined by the flow cytometer. 4 Comparison of difference of measurement result among groups was performed with t-test. Results: All the 30 mice were involved in the result analysis. 1 The percentage of the CD3+ T, CD4+ T cell subpopulation and the level of CD4+ /CD8+ in the model group was obviously lower than the control group and the treatment group [(36.95±2.17)%, (26.27±2.58)%, 1.61±0.21; (47.11 ±1.72)%, (36.14±1.95)%, 1.89±0.12, P < 0.05-0.01], [(44.04±2.02)%, (2820±1.37)%, 2.23±0.11, P < 0.05-0.01], respectively. 2 The percentage of CD8+ T cell subpopulation in the model group was markedly lower than the blank control group ((16.34±1.72)%, (19.16±2.02)%, P < 0.05], but higher than that in the treatment group [(12.65±1.12)%, P < 0.01]. Conclusion: The Yinyanghuo and Anchun compound can significantly improve the immunologic function of the mice with hypoimmunity.
