The effect of Dexamethasone on the urinary cytokines and renal scaring in children with acute pyelonephritis

INTERVENTION: Active treatment: ceftriaxon 80 mg/kg + Dexamethasone 0.15 mg/kg QID for 4 days Control group: ceftriaxon 80 mg/kg Intervention 1: Control group: ceftriaxon 80 mg/kg. Intervention 2: Active treatment: ceftriaxon 80 mg/kg + Dexamethasone 0.15 mg/kg QID for 4 days. INCLUSION CRITERIA: INCLUSION CRITERIA: fever, positive urine culture by supra pubic or catheter Exclusion criteria: Urinary tract abnormality, Renal Scaring, recent antibiotic usage
