Improving care of people with dementia in Black African and Caribbean groups

INTERVENTION: Leaflet, "Getting help for forgetfulness" leaflet has been developed through focus groups and interviews with members of the Black African and Caribbean ethnic minorities. It is a psychoeducation tool aimed changing attitudes to help‐seeking for memory problems. CONDITION: Topic: Primary Care; Subtopic: Dementias and neurodegeneration (DeNDRoN); Disease: All Diseases ; Mental and Behavioural Disorders ; Dementia PRIMARY OUTCOME: APEND questionnaire; Timepoint(s): 2 weeks and 4 months SECONDARY OUTCOME: Not provided at time of registration INCLUSION CRITERIA: Phase 1: 1. Aged 18 or over 2. Community group members who are from Black African or Carribean Minority Ethic groups who have given us permission to approach their members 3. Capacity to consent to participate Phase 2: 1. Participants of phase 1 of the study who have agreed to be approached again 2. Family people with mild dementia 3. Capacity to consent to participate Phase 3: 1. Black African or Carribean people who are registered with a GP 2. Aged 50 years or over 3. Able to provide consent to take part in the study
