Cognitive training in patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder and neuronal effects

INTERVENTION: Intervention 1: adaptive cognitive training (3 weeks 5x per week) for ca. 30 minutes), subsequently: cognitive behavioral therapy Intervention 2: non‐adaptive cognitive training (3 weeks 5x per week) for ca. 30 minutes), subsequently: cognitive behavioral therapy Intervention 3: Healthy control group (no intervention, measures see description for primary and secondary outcomes, but only one measurements at t1 and no Y‐BOCS) CONDITION: F42.0 ‐ Predominantly obsessional thoughts or ruminations F42.1 ‐ Predominantly compulsive acts [obsessional rituals] F42.2 ‐ Mixed obsessional thoughts and acts PRIMARY OUTCOME: • Performance (reaction times and error rates) and neuronal activation patterns (blood‐oxygen‐level‐dependent signal) in working memory, measured with functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) during n‐back task at measurement time t1 (before training) and t2 (after training).; • Performance (reaction times and error rates) and event‐related potentials in performance monitoring measured with electroencephalography (EEG) during Flanker task at measurement time t1 and t2. SECONDARY OUTCOME: All measurements at t1 and t2: ; • OCD (Obsessive‐Compulsive Disorder) symptoms measured with SCID‐I OCD section, Yale‐Brown Obsessive Compulsive Scale (Y‐BOCS) and Obsessive‐Compulsive Inventory‐Revised (OCI‐R) ; • Depressive symptoms measured with Beck Depression Inventory II (BDI‐II) and Montgomery Asberg Depression Rating Scale (MADRS); • Additional questionnaires: Brief Symptom Inventory (BSI), Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), Fragebogen zu exekutiven Funktionen (KATE), Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ); • Neuropsychological tests: Stroop, Digit Symbol, Digit span, Leistungsprüfsystem – Subtest Figural relations, Trail making test A & B INCLUSION CRITERIA: ICD10, F42 (Obsessive‐compulsive disorder)
