OBJECTIVE: To investigate the clinical effect of targeted pain nursing of traditional Chinese medicine combined with directional drug therapeutic instrument of traditional Chinese medicine on the patients with cervical spondylosis. METHODS: Ninety cervical spondylosis patients admitted to the Second Hospital, University of South China from June 2020 to June 2021 were enrolled. They were divided into the control group(45 cases) and the observation group(45 cases) by using a random number table. The control group was given routine nursing, and the observation group carried out directional drug therapeutic instrument of traditional Chinese medicine combined with targeted pain nursing intervention of traditional Chinese medicine. The pain scores, cervical vertebrae function, cervical physiological curvature, and range of motion were compared the two groups. RESULTS: After 1, 2, and 4 weeks of intervention, the Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) scores of the two groups were decreased compared with those after admission(all P<0.05), and the observation group had lower scores than the control group(all P<0.05). After 1, 2, and 4 weeks of intervention, the scores of cervical vertebrae function in the two groups were increased compared with those after admission(all P<0.05), and the observation group had higher scores than the control group(all P<0.05). After 4 weeks of intervention, the cervical physiological curvature and range of motion in the two groups were improved compared with those after admission(all P<0.05), and the observation group was better than the control group(all P<0.05). CONCLUSION: Targeted pain nursing of traditional Chinese medicine combined with directional drug therapeutic instrument of traditional Chinese medicine can effectively relieve the pain symptoms of patients with cervical spondylosis, and plays a key role in promoting the recovery of cervical function.
