Objective — to assess the effect of sulodexide on the quality of life, severity of symptoms and incidence of adverse events after radiofrequency ablation with phlebectomy in C2‐C4 primary varicose veins patients. Material and methods. There were 183 patients randomized into group S (n=93, sulodexide in perioperative period) and control group C (n=90, no sulodexide therapy). Quality of life was assessed using the CIVIQ‐20 questionnaire, severity of disease — VCSS grading system. Data collection was carried out before surgery and 90 days later. Results. Sulodexide had a positive effect on the quality of life (58.9±6.9 in group C and 61.8±8.7 in group S after invasive treatment, p=0.041) and severity of CVD symptoms (VCSS score 4.6±1.38 and 4.23±1.04 after invasive treatment, p=0.039). There was no effect of sulodexide on the incidence of adverse events. Conclusion. Sulodexide is useful to improve quality of life and venous symptoms after endovenous ablation with phlebectomy in patietns with primary varicose veins.
