INTERVENTION: Intervention1: Dexmedetomidine: 1 mcg/kg Loading dose IV over 10 minutes, followed by a Maintenance infusion of 0.2‐0.7 mcg/kg/hour titrated to maintain a target MAP (55‐65 mmHg). Control Intervention1: Magnesium sulphate: 40 mg/kg Loading dose IV over 10 minutes, followed by a Maintenance infusion of 10‐15 mg/kg/hour titrated to maintain target MAP CONDITION: Health Condition 1: O‐ Medical and Surgical PRIMARY OUTCOME: To compare the haemodynamic effects like heart rate, mean arterial pressure, oxygen saturation of dexmedetomidine and magnesium sulphate during controlled hypotension in endonasal surgeriesTimepoint: Baseline which is T0, after loading T10 and every 5 minutes thereafter that is T15, T20, T25 and so on up to the end of surgery SECONDARY OUTCOME: Post operative recovery parameters like time to eye opening, time to extubation, modified aldrete score and requirement of rescue analgesics.Timepoint: At 0, 5, 10 and 15 minutes post operatively in the post anaesthesia care unit. Quality of the surgical field using boezaart surgical field grading scale.Timepoint: Every 5 minutes intraoperatively Quality of the surgical field using the likert scale, total intraoperative blood loss and total anaesthetic consumptionTimepoint: At the end of surgery. INCLUSION CRITERIA: Adult patients 18 to 65 years of either se Xposted for elective nasal surgery under general anaesthesia Patients belonging to ASA physical status grade I and II Patients with BMI between 18 and 35 kg per square meter Patients wiling to participate in the study and provide written informed consent
