For that, 43 HIV-positive people over 50 took part in the study ( M=55; DP =4.6), being 63 percent male. The Scale of Quality of Life in Old Age (WHOQOL-OLD) and a biodemographic questionnaire were used as instruments. It was verified the impact of biodemographic and clinical variables in the following factors: "Autonomy", "Past, Present and Future Activities", "Death and Dying" and "Intimacy". The QL presented itself as a dimension of human life which is inseparable from objective conditions such as work, leisure, and housing, among others. Moreover, it is related to subjective characteristics, specific to each individual, such as social support.
