Effect of audio distraction with Buzzy device on pain during inferior alveolar nerve block in 5 to 10 year old child: an experimental study

INTERVENTION: Intervention1: Buzzy TM with audio distraction using headphones: a vibratory device with attached ice wings will be applied on the cheek region topically during the inferior alveolar block and will be placed till the end of the extraction procedure and mobile headphones would be placed in ears Control Intervention1: Buzzy TM : a vibratory device with attached ice wings will be applied on the cheek region topically during the inferior alveolar block and will be placed till the end of the extraction procedure CONDITION: Health Condition 1: K027‐ Dental root caries PRIMARY OUTCOME: To compare pain on injection using a Buzzy TM with and without audio during inferior alveolar nerve block injection in children aged 5‐10 years old.Timepoint: At baseline soon after the procedure SECONDARY OUTCOME: To evaluate a childs acceptance of Buzzy TM with and without audio distraction in children aged 5‐10 years old.Timepoint: At baseline just after the procedure INCLUSION CRITERIA: 1 Healthy children of 5‐10 years old. 2 Children indicated at least one clinical session of dental procedure requiring an inferior alveolar nerve block. 3 Children who exhibited Franklâ??s behavior rating grade three or four i.e. positive and definitely positive. 4 No prior experience with dental anaesthesia
