Risk Factors for Persistent Problems Following Acute Whiplash Injury: Update of a Systematic Review and Meta-analysis.

The article discusses the results of a study that examined the risk factors for persistent problems after a whiplash secondary to a motor vehicle accident. The study shows several variables that are significant predictors of poor outcome in whiplash-associated disorder (WAD) including high baseline pain intensity and report of headache inception. Existing variables that were refined or added included preaccident history of headache, rear-end collision and older age.
