A CLINICAL TRIAL TO STUDY WHETHER PROPHYLACTIC MAGNESIUM SULPHATE IN MILD PREECLAMPSIA INCREASE UMBILICAL ARTERY BLOOD FLOW

INTERVENTION: Intervention1: magnesium sulphate: Magnesium sulphate given at doses of 4gram (8ml) intravenous diluted in 12ml normal saline given slowly over 10‐15 minutes and 10gram (20ml) intramuscular [5gram (10ml) in each buttock] .This dose was followed by 5gram (10 ml) intramuscular Magnesium sulphate every 4 hour for next 24 hour Control Intervention1: normal saline: in same amount for volume CONDITION: change in umbilical artery blood flow in patients of mild preclampsia following magnesium sulphate prophylaxis PRIMARY OUTCOME: Umbilical artery Pulsatility index‐‐‐‐‐‐Timepoint: 24 hour after starting magnesium sulphate therapy SECONDARY OUTCOME: fetal middle cerebral artery Pulsatility index‐‐‐‐‐‐Timepoint: 24 hour after starting magnesium sulphate therapy INCLUSION CRITERIA: All pregnant women of greater than 34 week gestational age (confirmed by last menstrual period and a first trimester ultrasonography) and mild preclampsia or gestational hypertension were evaluated for inclusion in the study. For the present study mild preclampsia or gestational hypertension was defined as systolic blood pressure ≥ 140 and < 160 mm of Hg and / or diastolic blood pressure ≥90 and < 100 mm of Hg with or without protienuria
