INTERVENTION: E01.370.600.425 E02.594.540 The volunteers will be randomly assigned to the procedures: Simulated Photobiomodulation Group ‐ 14 women submitted to muscular strengthening associated with simulated photobiomodulation at the beginning of each session and Active Photobiomodulation Group ‐ 14 women submitted to muscular strengthening associated with active photobiomodulation at the beginning of each session. All participants will be submitted to the muscular strengthening program and simulated or active photobiomodulation for 8 weeks. During 2 weeks, the volunteers will perform an adaptation period, which will consist of 2 sets of 15 repetitions with low loads in each device. During this period the correct execution of the exercises and familiarization with the equipment will be emphasized. After this period, during 8 weeks, volunteers will perform the resistance training program, which will consist of 2 sets of 10‐12 repetitions with loads ranging between 75 and 80% of 1RM. The rest interval between the sets and the exercises will be 1 minute and the rest periods between the training sessions will be at least 72 hours (Monday ‐ Thursday) and 96 hours (Thursday ‐ Monday). Photobiomodulation will be applied to three areas of the quadriceps femoralis muscle bilaterally at the beginning of each session. Active Photobiomodulation (Cluster: 7 visible diodes (630nm) and 7 infrared diodes (850nm), power of 100mW, energy per point of 4J, totaling 56J of energy per application area and 168J per member, irradiation time of 40 seconds per area And 120 seconds per limb) or identical Simulated Photobiomodulation (without irradiation) will be used in the Active Photobiomodulation Group and Simulated Photobiomodulation Group, respectively. The irradiation will be performed stationary in contact and perpendicular to the skin, before the training program with resistance exercises. CONDITION: G08.686.157.500 Menopause, women's health ; G08.686.157.500 ; N01.400.900 N01.400.900 PRIMARY OUTCOME: Increase in the values of maximum load verified by the test of 1 repetition maximum (1RM) for the exercise leg press, from the observation of a variation of 20% in the pre and post intervention measurements. SECONDARY OUTCOME: Secondary outcomes are not expected. INCLUSION CRITERIA: Women who are postmenopausal for at least one year; who are sedentary in the last six months prior to the study; do not undergo any type of hormone replacement therapy; they must submit a medical report attesting physical fitness to the practice of a resistance training program.
