Comprehensive Acupuncture Treatment Protocol for Cough and Its Mechanism of Effect Research

INTERVENTION: Acupuncture group:Acute cough: Tian Tu, bilateral Fei Yu, Chi Ze, Lie Que, Qu Chi; Post‐infectious cough: Tian Tu, bilateral Fei Yu, Chi Ze, Lie Que, He Gu; Chronic cough: Tian Tu, bilateral Fei Yu, Chi Ze, Lie Que, Pí Yu, Shen Yu. The patient assumes a prone sitting position and relaxes the entire body. The acupuncture sites are disinfected with 75% alcohol swabs. Adhesive pads are applied to each acupoint to maintain a consistent appearance with the control group.;Sham group:The patient is in the prone position. The local skin at the acupoint is disinfected according to routine procedures, and a fixation pad is applied to the selected acupoint. A specially designed blunt‐tipped needle (f0.30×25mm) is used to directly penetrate the fixation pad and reach the skin surface. Needle insertion is simulated with slight, gentle lifting, thrusting, and twisting movements, each performed 3 times without breaking the skin. The needle is retained for 30 minutes, with no additional manipulation during this period.; CONDITION: Cough PRIMARY OUTCOME: Simple Cough Etiology and Treatment (CET) Scoring; SECONDARY OUTCOME: Leicester Cough Questionnaire (LCQ) Scoring;Visual Analog Scale (VAS);Body Temperature (Acute Cough);Pulmonary function, FeNO, and the number of respiratory disease episodes (chronic cough) within a 6‐month follow‐up period.;Patient Expectation Evaluation;Patients' trust in acupuncture therapy.;Double‐blind assessment;Health Economic Evaluation; INCLUSION CRITERIA: 1)Meet the diagnostic criteria for acute cough, post‐infectious cough, or chronic cough in both Chinese and Western medicine; 2) Age between 18 and 65 years, gender; 3) Able to accurately express personal, voluntarily sign the informed consent form, and agree to participate in the clinical trial.
