INTERVENTION: A sample will be used by individuals, both genders, allocated in two groups: 1) Pilates of low / moderate intensity (n = 66) and 2) high intensity (n = 66). All participants receive an exercise program on Pilates machines (Barrel, Cadillac, Chair and Reformer) for 6 weeks, 2x / week (total of 12 developments), lasting 1 hour. The two groups performing the same exercises, following the same sequence, according to a pre‐established protocol. The groups can postpone only in intensity and with no rest interval between exercises, where the low / moderate intensity group falls between 1 and 2 minutes and the high frequency group can vary from 2 to 3 minutes. Each service will consist of: global stretching (5 minutes), strengthening exercises for upper and lower limbs, abdomen and spine (50 minutes) and relaxing local massage (5 minutes). Each strengthening exercise will have 3 sets, varying or number of repetitions between 8 and 12, all performed with concentric, eccentric and isometric contraction. Exercise Therapy Low back pain Other CONDITION: Low back pain Low back pain ; Low back pain M00‐M99 PRIMARY OUTCOME: Expected outcome 1: improvement in functional disability.; This will be assessed using the Roland‐Morris Disability Questionnaire. It consists of a questionnaire with 24 questions related to activities of daily living (ADLs). Each affirmative answer is equivalent to 1 point, obtaining the final result through the sum of these. The higher the score, the greater the individual's disability. It will be evaluated at baseline and after 6 weeks of intervention. Expected outcome 2: lower back pain.; This will be assessed using the Numerical Pain Scale. It consists of a scale from 0 to 11, with 0 being “no painâ€? and 10 “the maximum possible painâ€?. Participants will be asked to rate their pain according to the past 7 days. It will be evaluated at baseline and after 6 weeks of intervention. SECONDARY OUTCOME: Expected outcome 1: improvement in specific disability. ; This will be assessed through the Patient Specific Functional Scale. It consists of the identification of three difficult or impossible activities to be performed due to low back pain. Each activity will be classified on a scale from 0 to 11, with 0 being “unable to perform the activityâ€? and 11 “capable of performing the activity at the pre‐injury levelâ€?. The final score is given by averaging these three ratings and the higher the score, the greater the specific disability. It will be evaluated at baseline and after 6 weeks of intervention. Expected outcome 2: reduction of kinesiophobia. ; This will be assessed through the Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia. It consists of a 17‐item questionnaire. Each item has four possible answers: 1 point for "strongly disagree", 2 points for "partially disagree", 3 points for "partially agree" and 4 points for "strongly disagree". The final score can vary from 17 to 68 points and the higher the score, the greater the degree of kinesiophobia. It will be evaluated at baseline and after 6 weeks of intervention. Expected outcome 3: increase in isometric muscle strength of the hip. ; This will be assessed using the Hand‐Held Dynamometer using the hip stability isometric test (HipSIT). The test was created to assess the strength of the hip in a three‐dimensional way, so that it evaluates abductors, external rotators and hip extensors together. It will be evaluated at baseline and after 6 weeks of intervention. INCLUSION CRITERIA: The study will include individuals aged between 18 and 60 years, of both sexes, who have had low back pain for more than 12 weeks.
