INTERVENTION: A12.200.666 Behavioural C07.793.208.377 E05.318.308.980.438.300.725 E05.318.308.980.493 The terms of consent and free clarification will be distributed to pregnant women over 18 (Annex 1), to those responsible for pregnant women under the age of 18 (APPENDIX 2), and a consent form for young women under the age of 18 (APPENDIX 3) which will only be signed, if the person in charge has previously signed (According to the norms of Resolution of the National Health Council nº 466 of 12/12/2012). After the collection of the signed documentation, the study itself will be started. Prior to any intervention or clinical examination, an anamnesis will be done, using the exam form (ANNEX 4), where they will be properly included or excluded from the project. Pregnant women with diabetes with pre‐gestational diabetes or gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) who agree to participate in the study and who have signed the free and informed consent term will be included. They will be subdivided into two distinct groups: Control Group (CG), where oral clinical examinations and oral hygiene guidance will be carried out; Test Group 1 (CT1), will be performed oral clinical exams, oral hygiene orientation and brushing supervised by a professional in the area of ??Dentistry. All pregnant women will receive mother‐child guidance guides for oral hygiene (Global Child Dental Fund.) And will be submitted to a questionnaire on the subjects addressed before the use of oral health instruction guides, immediately after, one month, three, six (ANNEX 5), will also receive a food consumption log (APPENDIX 6) for the purposes of knowing the diet routine of women. The pregnant women will be attended at the School Maternity of UFRJ and all will be examined and submitted to the evaluation of: Flow of secretion, presence of visible plaque (ANNEX 8) and gingival bleeding (APPENDIX 9), both assessed at baseline, three months, six months and one year and CAST7 Index (APPENDIX 7), only initial evaluation of the oral health condition. CONDITION: C13.703.170 C13.703.726 C18.452.394.750 Diabetes Mellitus, Pregnancy in Diabetics, Gestational diabetes ; C13.703.726 ; C18.452.394.750 ; C13.703.170 PRIMARY OUTCOME: We expect the oral health guidelines to reduce gum bleeding rates, as verified by sequential encounters during pregnancy by measuring gingival bleeding index with the millimeter probe, there are still no results to verify such verification. SECONDARY OUTCOME: We hope that oral health guidelines improve oral health knowledge, verified by the questionnaires that will be applied again at the end of the research in the last moments, and there are no results yet to verify such verification. INCLUSION CRITERIA: Pregnant women at any stage of gestation with diabetes mellitus
