Clinical Study of Acupuncture with Language Training for Aphasia after Stroke

OBJECTIVE:To verify the clinical curative effect of acupuncture with language training for treating aphasia after stroke by standard clinical randomized controlled trial.METHODS:Totally 78 patients were involved in the trial,and all patients were randomized into a treatment group or a control group.Acupuncture with language training was applied for the treatment group while only sham acupuncture with language training was for control group.The scores of the examination method of Aphasia and Stroke and Aphasia Quality of Life(SAQOL-39)of each group were measured before and after 4 weeks treatment respectively.RESULT:Both of treatment group and control group effectively retrieved the linguistic function(P<0.05),but the total clinical therapeutic effective rate of treatment group was 90.24% which was better than that of control group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION:The curative effect of acupuncture with language training for treating aphasia after stroke is sufficiently verified.
