Clinical Study on Pabing Recipe Ⅲ for Treatment of 30 Cases of Parkinson's Disease

OBJECTIVE: To observe therapeutic effect of Pabing Recipe Ⅲ on Parkinson's disease(PD). METHODS: 60 cases of PD with TCM syndrome type of intermingled heat and cold and type of Jueyin wind stirring were randomly divided into a test group and a control group,30 cases in each.The test group were treated with Pabing Recipe Ⅲ plus Madopa Tablets and the control group with Madopa Tablets plus fixed prescription of Chinese herbs recipe.The treatment course of both groups was 3 months.Improvement of score for Unified Parkinsons Disease Rating Scales(UPDRS)and Hoehn-Yahr grading before and after treatment were compared. RESULTS: The cumulative scores of behavior,mind,emotion,daily activity and motor function in the patients of the test group significantly decreased after treatment(P0.05),and only the cumulative score for daily activity in the patients of the control group significantly decreased(P0.05).The total effective rate was 43.33% in the test group which was significantly higher than 16.67% in the control group(P0.05). CONCLUSION: Pabing Recipe Ⅲ has definite therapeutic effect on the patient of PD with TCM Syndrome type of intermingled heat and cold and type of Jueyin wind-stirring.
