Effect of ice and sweet tasting solution in reducing injection pain in children of 7-10 years

INTERVENTION: Intervention1: Group II‐ Cryoanesthesia: Oral mucosa will be dried with cotton roll and ice pack (Prepared by freezing water in the finger of x‐small size gloves and looped around) will be applied at the injection site for 2 minutes using stop watch. Intervention2: Group III‐ Sweet tasting solution: Freshly prepared 5 ml of xylitol solution will be given to the subjects and will be asked to hold the solution in the mouth for 2 minutes using stop watch and spit it out. Control Intervention1: Group I‐ Sterile water: Prior to the injection the subjects will be given 5 ml sterile water and will be asked to hold it in mouth for 2 minutes using stop watch and spit it out. CONDITION: Health Condition 1: K029‐ Dental caries, unspecified PRIMARY OUTCOME: Pain reduction during local anesthesia administrationTimepoint: At baseline SECONDARY OUTCOME: Beneficial in children during local anesthesia administrationTimepoint: At baseline INCLUSION CRITERIA: 1. Healthy children of age group 7‐10 years (ASA I) 2. Children of both the gender 3. Children exhibiting Franklâ??s Behaviour Rating scale III and IV 4. Children who require local anesthesia for the dental treatment following diagnosis and treatment planning
