INTERVENTION: Group 1: The intervention group completed a supervised unilateral hip flexor stretching program over a period of four weeks using the so‐called coach stretch. Stretching was performed on three days per week. In each session, participants performed three 5‐minute stretching bouts per leg, resulting in a total of si X5‐minute bouts alternating between both legs. Group 2: The control group received no specific intervention and continued their usual daily routine without additional stretching training. CONDITION: No specific disease; investigation of functional adaptations in healthy, predominantly sedentary adults PRIMARY OUTCOME: The primary outcome was the maximum hip extension angle in the stand phase of the gait cycle. SECONDARY OUTCOME: Secondary outcomes comprised changes in static and dynamic posture variables, balance parameters, and hip extensions range of motion between pre‐test and post‐test. Outcomes were assessed using three‐dimensional motion capture, an instrumented treadmill, force plates, and standardized tasks for static posture, single‐leg and bilateral stance, toe‐touch performance, and walking. INCLUSION CRITERIA: Eligible participants were healthy adults with a predominantly sedentary lifestyle who reported sitting for at least 8 to 10 hours per day.
