INTERVENTION: Exercise Movement Techniques Intervention group: composed of 30 participants, who will participate in a program of stretching and strengthening exercises based on the Pilates method. There will be 12 weeks of consultations, with 2 visits per week. Participants will be evaluated on the first and last day of the interventions. Control group: composed of 30 participants who will be evaluated at the beginning of the study and after 12 weeks, and will not receive interventions. Other CONDITION: Diabetes Mellitus, Type 2 Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus ; Diabetes Mellitus, Type 2 PRIMARY OUTCOME: Expected outcome 1: Decrease in the rates of glycated hemoglobin, fasting blood glucose and total cholesterol, obtaining an approximation of the normal values referenced in the literature. Measured by means of blood analysis performed with the labtest kits. The outcomes were evaluated 1 week before and after the completion of the program.; Expected outcome 2: Decrease in serum levels of Malondialdehyde, performed 1 week before and 1 week after the execution of the exercise protocol.; Outcome found 1: 20% decrease in the rate of glycated hemoglobin in the pilates group. The other values showed no differences. Outcome found 2: 52.87% decrease in malondialdehyde levels in the pilates group. SECONDARY OUTCOME: Expected outcome 3: Increased recruitment of muscle fibers, verified by surface electromyography and expressed by the RMS values for the muscles: anterior tibial, medial gastrocnemic, rectus femoris, rectus abdominis, great dorsal, major pectoralis, lower trapezius and diaphragm . These assessments were performed 1 week before and after the protocols were performed. ; Expected outcome 4: Improvement of static balance, assessed using stabilometry with eyes open and closed, considering the area and speed of displacement. ; These assessments were performed 1 week before and after the protocols were performed. ; Expected outcome 5: Improvement of respiratory muscle forces, by increasing the values of Maximum Inspiratory Pressure and Maximum Expiratory Pressure. ; Outcome found 4: There was no difference between the static balance variables before and after the protocols. Outcome found 4: There were no changes in static balance after the protocols. Outcome found 5: There was no difference between respiratory pressures before and after the protocols. INCLUSION CRITERIA: Be enrolled in Hiperdia, with a proven clinical diagnosis of type 2 diabetes mellitus; reside in the municipality of Parnaíba; be between 35 and 80 years old; have sufficient cognitive and physical capacity to perform the evaluative procedures and participate in the exercise protocol; agree to participate in the research by signing the informed consent form
