INTERVENTION: Group 1: Interventional = Online‐Delivered Metacognitive Training for Obsessive‐Compulsive Disorder (MCT‐OCD), 8 sessions (approximately 90min per session), once a week over a period of 8 weeks. The aim of MCT‐OCD is to reduce OC symptoms through the modification of OCD‐specific cognitive biases. In addition to those biases conventionally treated in CBT, it addresses further biases that basic research has identified (e.g., biased cognitive networks). Group 2: Waitlist control = Participants assigned to the waitlist control received no structured psychological treatment during the equivalent 8‐week observation period. Participants are informed that they receive access to the active intervention following completion of the waitlist period. CONDITION: ; F42 Obsessive‐compulsive disorder PRIMARY OUTCOME: Self report version of the Yale‐Brown Obsessive Compulsive Scale Second‐Edition (Y‐BOCS‐II‐SR): A self‐report assessment for OCD symptoms (t0, t1, and t2). This measure is a self‐rating questionnaire to evaluate the participants’ appraisal of the MCT‐OCD. ; ; Client Satisfaction Questionnaire ‐ 8 (CSQ‐8): The CSQ‐8 is a self‐rating questionnaire to measure client’s satisfaction with received treatment (t1 and t2) ; ; MCT‐OCD Session Effect Scale: After each session of the MCT‐OCD, participants receive questionnaire in which evaluate cognitive biases that correspond to the content of the MCT‐OCD modules as well as general mechanisms of change such as coping expectation, agency, perceived control, psychological flexibility, insight, and distress tolerance.
