INTERVENTION: Intervention1: LIQUORICE: 7.5% The intracanal medicaments will be placed after biomechanical preparation as per standard endodontic protocol. The medicament will be applied once per visit and left inside the root canal for a duration of 14 days. After 14 days, the medicament will be removed, and samples will be collected for evaluation of matri Xmetalloproteinases (MMPs) and tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases (TIMPs). Intervention2: COMBINATION OF LIQUORICE AND CALCIUM HYDROXIDE: 1:1 RATIO The intracanal medicaments will be placed after biomechanical preparation as per standard endodontic protocol. Control Intervention1: CALCIUM HYDROXIDE: 45% The intracanal medicaments will be placed after biomechanical preparation as per standard endodontic protocol. Control Intervention2: NO MEDICATION: PLACEBO In the placebo (control) group, after biomechanical preparation as per standard endodontic protocol, no intracanal medicament will be placed. The root canal will be left empty (or filled with sterile saline‐moistened cotton pellet) and sealed temporarily. The canal will be maintained under these conditions for a duration of 14 days. After 14 days, the temporary restoration will be removed, and samples will be CONDITION: Health Condition 1: K044‐ Acute apical periodontitis of pulpal origin PRIMARY OUTCOME: Reduction in MMP (e.g. MMP‐2, MMP‐9) levels and increase/modulation in TIMP levels in root canal samples.Timepoint: BASELINE ; 14TH DAY SECONDARY OUTCOME: NILTimepoint: NIL INCLUSION CRITERIA: BOTH MALE AND FEMALE PATIENT WHO CAME AS OUT PATIENT IN DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATIVE DENTISTRY
