The skin at the acupoints was disinfected routinely, and filiform needles of 0.20mm×40mm specification were selected. For Baihui (GV20), the needle was inserted transversely at a 15° angle with the scalp, with an insertion depth of 0.5‐0.8 cun; for Yintang (EX‐HN3), the needle was inserted by pinching the skin, with the needle tip pointing to the nasal tip transversely, and the insertion depth was 0.3‐0.5 cun; for Neiguan (PC6), the needle was inserted vertically into the skin, with a depth of 0.5‐1.0 cun; for Hegu (LI4), the needle was inserted vertically slightly toward the palm, with an insertion depth of 0.5‐1.0 cun; for Taichong (LR3), the needle was inserted vertically slightly toward the sole of the foot, with an insertion depth of 0.5‐0.8 cun; for Qimen (LR14), the needle was inserted along the intercostal space at an angle of about 30° with the skin, pointing to the outside or the upper edge of the rib, with a depth of 0.3‐0.5 cun; for Yinlingquan (SP9), the needle was inserted vertically into the skin, with a depth of 1.0‐2.0 cun; for Zusanli (ST36), the needle was inserted vertically into the skin, slightly toward the tibia, with a depth of 1.0‐2.0 cun; for Sanyinjiao (SP6), the needle was inserted vertically into the skin, with a depth of 1.0‐1.5 cun. After needling the above acupoints, the even reinforcing‐even reducing manipulation was applied to each acupoint, and deqi was considered achieved when the pat CONDITION: 6A71 Depression PRIMARY OUTCOME: Hamilton Depression Rating Scale Score; SECONDARY OUTCOME: TCM Syndrome Score Scale;Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale Score;Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index;World Health Organization Quality of Life Assessment Scale Score;Social Support Rating Scale Score;Self‐rating Depression Scale Score; INCLUSION CRITERIA: 1) meeting the above‐mentioned diagnostic criteria of traditional Chinese and Western medicine; 2) aged 18 to 65 years; 3) HAMD‐17 score between 8 and 24 points, with a suicide factor score = 2 points; 4) voluntarily participating in this study and signing the informed consent form; 5) no change in antidepressant regimen/dosage within 8 weeks before the start of the study.
