Reports findings from a controlled, double-blind study in which 23 male and 9 female clinic patients (65% Black) were randomly divided into 3 groups and given daily doses of (a) cyclazocine in a cherry-flavored vehicle containing 1 mg/4 ml, (b) cyclazocine in an identical vehicle containing 0.125 mg/4 ml, or (c) the vehicle only. The high drop-out rate in each treatment group and the absence of any clear-cut advantage of cyclazocine over placebo treatment are discussed.
