The Canadian Muslim Addiction Program (C-MAP) was designed as a pilot randomized controlled study using quantitative and qualitative methods to evaluate culturally and spiritually adapted addiction psychoeducation. Its aim is to reduce addiction-related stigma by improving knowledge, attitudes toward addiction, and professional help-seeking among Canadian Muslims. The protocol specifies a target sample of 200-300 participants aged 16 years or older, drawn from three populations: Muslim individuals with lived experience of addiction, family members of individuals with addiction, and members of the Muslim general public. Participants are randomly assigned in a 1:1 ratio to either C-MAP psychoeducation incorporating Islamic perspectives or a control program covering similar addiction topics without spiritually adapted content. The study involves a single virtual session, with questionnaires administered before and after the intervention. Self-report measures assess addiction-related knowledge, attitudes, stigma, and help-seeking, while open-ended questions explore participants\' experiences and the perceived contribution of Islamic content. The study also examines whether baseline spirituality is associated with improvements in outcomes. Findings are intended to inform refinement of the program and provide feasibility information and effect-size estimates for a larger trial.
