Advances in Nursing Informatics in Brazil: Integrative Review

Objective: To map and to discuss the scientific knowledge about nursing informatics in the national literature in the period of 2008 to 2013. Method: It is an integrative literature review. It was used the LILACS database with the ?Nursing Informatics? descriptor. 21 studies were selected after applying the criteria for inclusion and exclusion. Results: Currently computing is closely related to the nursing work process in different scenarios, optimizing their actions be in the care, management or teaching context. In the healthcare context, predominating the thematic systematization of nursing care and teaching, nursing procedures. Conclusion: Nurses and nursing undergraduate should seek improvement of their knowledge and computer skills, as new technologies have had more space within the health services.
