AIM To observe the nursing effect of TCM nursing in uremia patients with gastritis and its impact on nursing quality. METHODS Ninety-five patients with uremia and gastritis were enrolled from March 2015 to August 2016. The patients were randomly divided into a control group (n = 45) and an observation group (n = 45). Both groups were given conventional nursing care, and the observation group was addi t ionally given Chinese medicine-based nursing care. The quality of life was evaluated with the simple health questionnaire. RESULTS Anxiety score (30.81 ± 2.57) and depression score (33.26 ± 4.15) were significantly lower in the observation group than in the control group (P < 0.05). Scores of physiological function (58.31 ± 15.12), health status (58.41 ± 12.42), social function (73.26 ± 9.85), affective function (54.36 ± 8.74), and mental health (77.46 ± 8.32) were significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group (P < 0.05). The degree of satisfaction to nursing was significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group (P <0.05). CONCLUSION In the course of treatment of sepsis patients with gastritis, traditional Chinese medicinebased nursing combined with conventional care can improve the quality of care in uremia patients with gastritis.
