The materials and methods section of our original manuscript, lacked information on outcomes, and should have been described as follows: In the study protocol [1] and clinical trial registration, the adequacy of weight gain was determined as the main outcome. However, after the clinical trial registration of our study, we observed that recent studies that investigated the effect of interventions on weight gain in women with overweight or obesity used excessive weight gain as the primary outcome [2, 3]. We found that this alteration would not have affected the original sample size calculation, since Ferrara et al. [3] found a 20% difference in the proportion of excessive weight gain between the treatment groups, and changed the primary outcome in view of this evidence. The statistical analyses section should also include the following information: In the study protocol [1] and clinical trial registration, only the analyses following the intention‐to‐treat principles (including all the randomized women) was planned. However, face‐to‐face interviews were suspended between March and October 2020 due to the COVID‐19 pandemic, which led to a substantially higher loss to follow‐up than was predicted. Information on maternal weight was obtained through medical records at each prenatal visit, and the data on the outcome was available. However, some women of the intervention group did not receive any nutritional counselling. Thus, additionally, modified intention‐to‐treat principles was conducted (in which the women of the intervention group who did not attend any of the nutritional counselling sections were excluded).
