OBJECTIVE: To observe the efficacy of orlistat capsule combined with sitagliptin metformin tablets in the treatment of obese type 2 diabetes. METHODS: A total of 138 obese type 2 diabetes patients were randomly divided into two groups of 69 cases. The control group was treated with oral sitagliptin metformin tablets, and the observation group was treated with oral orlistat capsules on the basis of the control group. The efficacy of the two groups was compared. RESULTS: The effective rate of the observation group was 97.10%, which was significantly higher than 84.06% in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the blood glucose level and LDL-C, TG, and TC levels were significantly reduced, while HDL-C was significantly increased. The blood glucose level and blood lipid level of the observation group after treatment were significantly lower than those of the control group (P<0.05). CONCLUSION: In the treatment of obese type 2 diabetes, the combined use of orlistat capsules and sitagliptin metformin tablets has a more significant effect and is worthy of clinical promotion.
