OBJECTIVE: To investigate the association of single nucleotide polymorphism(SNP) of XRCC3-241 gene with the development of non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC). METHODS: XRCC3-241 genotype was determined by Taqman SNP genotyping assays in 103 patients with non-small cell lung cancer and 139 matched controls recruited by matching on living area, sex and age. RESULTS: In NSCLC patients the frequency of genotype C/C and C/T was 84.9%(118/139) and 15.1%(21/139),respectively.In healthy controls the frequency of genotype C/C and C/T were 88.3%(91/103) and 11.6%(12/103),respectively.The risk of genotype T/C for NSCLC was 1.004 over genotype C/C.(P0.05). CONCLUSION: The XRCC3-241 SNP was not associated with the non-small cell lung cancer development.
