Before pancreatic islet cell transplantation, the share of diabetes mellitus type 1 patients with immunodeficient conditions amounted to 70.1%. After the surgery it was equal to 22.5%. In diabetes mellitus type 2 these values were 79 and 18%, respectively. The xenotransplantation leads to elevation of T-lymphocytes level in diabetic patients with T-dependent and B-dependent immunodeficiency, but does not correct T-helpers/T-suppressors ratio, which was abnormal in diabetics with autoimmune disorders.
