Effect of laser on the pain of women with nipple damage

INTERVENTION: E02.594 Laser group: 40 women with nipple damage will receive irradiation of 2 joules of laser energy (660 nanometers, visible red, continuous light, 100 mW optical power and InGaAIP semiconductor) in single and punctual application in the center of the nipple lesion for 10 seconds. Control group: 40 women with nipple lesion will receive irradiation of 0 joules of energy with similar equipment, however, with light blocked in single and punctual application in the center of the nipple lesion for 10 seconds. Both groups received guidance on breast care and correct breastfeeding. Radiation CONDITION: F01.145.407.199 O00‐O99 Women, postpartum, breastfeeding, nipple damage. ; O92.1 ; F01.145.407.199 PRIMARY OUTCOME: Evaluate the degree of pain in women with nipple lesion and the effect of 2 joules of the red laser on nipple pain when compared to the control group.; ; The women's nipple pain was verified through the report of the same during the feeding, using the Visual Analogue Scale (EVA). For this record, a note was given by the puerpera through a straight 10 cm horizontal line of the EVA within 24 hours after the intervention. SECONDARY OUTCOME: Evaluate the relationship of the proposed treatment with breastfeeding practice and effects identification of side effects of laser use on nipples. INCLUSION CRITERIA: Women; postpartum period; in the maternity hospital; with nipple damage; exclusively breastfed; with a single child born at term and weighing two thousand and five hundred grams or more.
