INTERVENTION: G11.427.410.698.277 The interventions will be composed of aquatic exercises, to evaluate the acute effects of a session of aquatic exercise on the blood pressure of postmenopausal and hypertensive women. The control sessions (C) and interval aquatic exercise (AI) will occur randomly, with a minimum interval of 48 hours between sessions in a pool with a thermoneutral temperature (29 to 32ºC), with the water height at the process level. xiphoid. In session C, the participant must enter the pool and remain in an upright position for 24 minutes, performing stretching/relaxation activities. The AI ??session will consist of 3 minutes of warm‐up, two 8‐minute blocks of water aerobics exercises for the main muscle groups of the lower and upper limbs (30 seconds in RPE 11 of the Borg scale) interspersed with running (30 seconds in RPE 16 of the Borg scale) and 3 minutes of relaxation/calm down. After each session, evaluations of biochemical and hemodynamic variables and a 24‐hour food recall will be performed. All sessions will take place at the same place and time. The sample size was estimated at 34 participants. CONDITION: Arterial hypertension; post‐menopause PRIMARY OUTCOME: It is expected to find a significant drop in office and ambulatory blood pressure after exercise (post‐exercise hypotension). SECONDARY OUTCOME: It is expected to find a reduction in blood glucose after physical exercise, improvement in blood pressure reactivity to stress, changes in salivary markers and heart rate variability. INCLUSION CRITERIA: Women aged between 45 and 65 years; postmenopausal women (1 year of permanent amenorrhea); hypertensive patients properly medicated, not practicing physical exercises regularly and systematically for at least three months; not having musculoskeletal problems or cardiovascular complications that prevent physical exercise; present a medical certificate proving that you are fit for physical exercise; no history of stroke or acute myocardial infarction; not to smoke; not having a diagnosis of Diabetes Mellitus; not practice physical exercises during the evaluation period; not have a pacemaker.
