Investigating the Curcumin effects on ICU admitted traumatic brain injury patients' outcome

INTERVENTION: Intervention 1: Intervention group: Curcumin capsule containing 500 mg of curcumin and 5 mg of piperine (manufactured by Sabinsa Company), 1 capsule every 24 hours orally. Intervention 2: Control group: Placebo capsule containing 5 mg of piperine (manufactured by Sabinsa Company), 1 capsule every 24 hours orally. CONDITION: S06.2 Traumatic brain injury. ; Diffuse traumatic brain injury PRIMARY OUTCOME: Glasgow coma scale (GCS) score. Timepoint: Days 0 and 7. Method of measurement: Glasgow coma scale (GCS) score calculation. SOFA score. Timepoint: Days 0 and 7. Method of measurement: SOFA score (The Sequential Organ Failure Assessment Score) calculation. INCLUSION CRITERIA: The age of the patient is between 18 and 85 years; The reason for admission to the intensive care unit is head trauma; The patient or his first degree relatives have signed the consent form knowingly and freely; Glasgow coma scale is 8 and above; Less than 48 hours have passed since the loss of consciousness secondary to traumatic brain injury; There is no prohibition to receive oral medications.
