INTERVENTION: Intervention1: VAM Meditation plus Standard pharmacotherapy: VAM Meditation (30 minutes daily for 8 weeks) plus Standard Pharmacotherpy (Tab Pantoprazole 40 mg PO OD, +/‐ Tab Amitriptyline 10‐25 mg PO OD, +/‐ Tab Domperidone 30 mg PO OD) for the total duration of 4 to 8 weeks. Note: Vaishvanara Agni meditation (VAM) is a Sanskrit word which literally means â??digestive fireâ??. It focuses around navel and gut regions to activate digestive fire. VAM is labelled as open monitoring meditation and this type of meditation needs a broad scope of attention while focusing on a particular object. This meditation initially focuses on minimizing distractions and then achieving the highest order meta‐awareness of the present moment. During VAM, attention is mainly focused on the navel region and the digestive system. Navel region, which is the initial centre of attention, gradually shifts towards meta‐awareness. The online version of VAM will be delivered by at least one certified volunteer of SSIAR (Sri Sri Institute for Advanced Research, Udayapura, Bengaluru) with at least one back up teacher at all times.
