Primary end point(s): Completion of the 3 month course of Cimetidine or placebo. All patients will be followed up in routine clinics until final discharge. Secondary Objective: TO ASSESS WHETHER CIMETIDINE 200mg B.D HASTENS THE RESOLUTION OF THE PAIN AND DISABILITY OF SUPRASPINATUS CALCIFIC TENDINITIS. INCLUSION CRITERIA: 1.A clinical and radiologic diagnosis of calcific supraspinatus tendinitis. 2.A painful shoulder of sufficient severity to warrant Orthopaedic referral.
