Objective To analyze the clinical and epidemiological characteristics of patients with new coronavirus pneumonia (COVID-19) in order to further improve the understanding of the disease. Methods The clinical data of 80 inpatients diagnosed with COVID-19 in Zhuzhou City from January 20 to February 27, 2020 were retrospectively analyzed, including epidemiological conditions, clinical characteristics, treatment and outcomes. The clinical characteristics of patients in general group, severe and critical group Results Among the 80 confirmed patients, 22 cases (27.5%) originated from Hubei epidemic area, 58 cases (72.5%) originated from non-Hubei epidemic area, 45 cases (56.3%) had clear contact with the source of infection, and 13 had no history of clear contact13 Cases (16.3%). A total of 17 epidemic outbreaks, involving 55 cases, 4 imported epidemic outbreaks in Hubei, 9 cases, including 3 family gatherings; 13 local outbreaks, 46 cases, 10 family gatherings, and 2 social gatherings , Friends have dinner together. The median age of 80 patients was 47.5 years old; the male to female ratio was 1:1; 22 patients (27.5%) had underlying diseases, and the top 3 underlying diseases were hypertension, diabetes, and coronary heart disease in order; 8 light cases (10.0%), 55 cases of general type (68.8%), 11 cases of heavy (13.8%), 6 cases of severe (7.5%). The main clinical symptoms are fever, cough and sputum, fatigue, headache, muscle aches and diarrhea. Compared with patients in the light and ordinary groups, the patients in the heavy and critical groups are older, have a higher proportion of diabetes and hypertension, have dyspnea, and have a higher rate of breathing >24 times per minute, and the differences are statistically significant ( All P<0.05). 78 patients (97.5%) with normal or reduced white blood cell count, 20 patients (25.0%) with lymphocyte count <1.0×109/L; lymphocyte count, lymphocyte percentage, hemoglobin, albumin in patients with severe and critical group Compared with the patients in the light and normal groups (both P<0.05), there were statistically significant differences in multiple blood indicators. 9 patients (11.3%) had no pneumonia, 15 patients (18.8%) had unilateral lung involvement, 56 patients (70.0%) had bilateral lung involvement, and 17 patients (100.0%) had severe and critically ill patients. Both lungs are affected. Conclusions The new coronavirus infection is a family-aggregated disease. The older age and the combined basic diseases account for a higher proportion in severe and critically ill patients. The lymphocyte count of most severe patients is significantly reduced, which can be used as a clinical early warning indicator.
