CRD SUMMARY: This review concluded that almond consumption can reduce total cholesterol concentrations, but did not appear to significantly affect low-density lipoprotein (LDL), high-density lipoprotein HDL cholesterol, triglycerides or LDL:HDL ratio. This conclusion reflected the results of the review, but the very small number of participants with widely differing clinical profiles should be borne in mind when considering the conclusions' reliability.
