INTERVENTION: Other Physical Education and Training To verify the effect of resistance training on cardiac autonomic modulation in patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing hemodialysis, all patients at the hemodialysis center in Bauru were used. After applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 23 patients were randomized into two groups: a) exercise and b) very low intensity exercise. Both groups underwent evaluations of cardiac autonomic modulation before and after three months of intervention. The collection of cardiac autonomic modulation was carried out using the "heart rate variability" method, for collections the cardio frequency meter of the maraca Polar was used The exercise group was composed of 12 individuals. They performed resistance exercises for upper and lower limbs three times a week, the exercise load was elevated according to the intensity of the previous session. The very low intensity exercise group was composed of 11 individuals. This group performed the exercise 3 times a week, the exercises were just rotations of the joints and the session never went beyond 5 minutes, this group performed an increase in intensity CONDITION: chronic renal failure; cardiac disease ; Renal Insufficiency, Chronic ; Hypertensive heart and renal disease, unspecified Hypertensive heart and renal disease, unspecified Renal Insufficiency, Chronic PRIMARY OUTCOME: Benefits for cardiac autonomic modulation in patients with chronic kidney disease submitted to a physical exercise program, was verified by the heart rate variability method, from the observation of a variation of at least 5% in the pre and post‐intervention measurements. No changes in cardiac autonomic modulation were observed in patients with chronic kidney disease who underwent three months of intervention with resistance exercise, verified by the heart rate variability method, from the observation of a variation of at least 5% in the pre and post measurements ‐intervention. SECONDARY OUTCOME: Secondary outcome is not expected INCLUSION CRITERIA: Be over 18 years old; have been on hemodialysis for at least three months; patients without medical records of event, symptom or heart disease, such as acute myocardial infarction, coronary insufficiency with presence of ischemia and / or angina, arrhythmias and stroke; without medical contraindication to physical exercise.
