INTERVENTION: Intervention1: Climate Change Narrative: The intervention will contain messages to increase knowledge and change attitudes in favour of climate change mitigation activities. The participants will receive the intervention through a website designed especially for the study. Upon landing on the website page, they would be directed to choose an avatar or climate change saviour of their choice to continue exploring the site. The process of choosing the avatar would be complimented by adding reinforcing messages wherever possible; eg, â??thats a great choice!â?? Or â??Youre doing wonderfully, keep going!. After selection of the avatar, the person would be prompted to continue to the next step which would be reading the story. The story that would be displayed would be set in the Indian subcontinent. The reading time would be displayed on the page along with the progress bar to aid the reading experience of the participant. When the story is completed, the reader is taken on a page with reinforcing messages like Job well done and the avatar on the page is in a joyful mood, however if the participant attempts to leave the site midway of the story, a message of youre almost thereâ??, â??please complete itâ?? is shown. This group would then be given a questionnaire assessing the perceptions, willingness, future effects of climate change and identification and transportation scales to complete. The participants from the intervention group will be sent a follow up activity after 2 weeks of the intervention which would contain narrative and behaviour change elements. After this, the intervention group would be followed up after 4 weeks to assess the same measures done in the post intervention part of the study.
