INTERVENTION: In the intervention consultation (photobiomodulation) 38 participants will receive 1 photobiomodulation session (PBMT) using a pre‐defined protocol after the orthodontic maintenance procedure. Duo MMO laser emitting equipment will be used, wavelength (?) 808 nm, fluence 3 J/cm², density 100 mW/cm2 in a time of 5 minutes. The approximation tip will be used for close contact in the root region, moving the tip along the root through the vestibular region. The randomization process will be carried out by envelopes, where the patient chooses a random envelope that determines the group the patient will participate in in consultation 1. So, if the patient draws envelope 0 (zero ‐ no laser) in consultation 1, in consultation 2 he will receive the intervention (laser application). The blinding of the research will only occur on the part of the patient who will not be aware of the group to which he belongs and, at the time of the intervention, he will be blindfolded with a black blindfold and laser protection glasses CONDITION: C23.888.592.612 Procedural Pain PRIMARY OUTCOME: Investigate the factors associated with self‐perception of pain after the application of photobiomodulation in orthodontic patients SECONDARY OUTCOME: Assess possible treatment abandonment due to pain Observe the influence of age and se Xon the perception of orthodontic pain Obtain the patient's opinion on the results of applying photobiomodulation after orthodontic maintenance INCLUSION CRITERIA: Young and adult patients, between 12 and 50 years old; of both sexes; undergoing orthodontic treatment in the alignment and leveling phase; that present absence of systemic, periodontal or periapical diseases; have good hygiene; not having had previous orthodontic treatment
