Evaluation of the effect of Zinc Sulfate on pruritus in patients under hemodialysis

INTERVENTION: Intervention 1: Tab Zinc Sulfate 220 mg BID. Intervention 2: Placebo BID. Placebo Placebo BID Tab Zinc Sulfate 220 mg BID Treatment ‐ Drugs CONDITION: End‐stage renal disease Pruritus in Hemodialysis Patients. ; End‐stage renal disease PRIMARY OUTCOME: Changes in Pruritus Score. Timepoint: Every 2 wk. Method of measurement: Visual Analogue Scale. INCLUSION CRITERIA: INCLUSION CRITERIA: ‐ Being under maintenance hemodialysis for at least one month ‐ Not being under other drug treatment for pruritus ‐ Having pruritus for at least 8 wk ‐ No sensitivity to Zinc Sulfate ‐ Volunteer to participate Exclusion criteria: ‐ Non compliance with drug ‐ Renal transplantation before end of therapy ‐ Hypoparathyroidism ‐ Alkalin phosphatase elevation
