INTERVENTION: The 200 patients with self‐reported pain intensity with a score of 4 on the Visual Numerical Scale (VNS) will be invited to attend the data collection site on the scheduled date and time. In the initial assessment, the subject will be characterized for sociodemographic and clinical description and the following instruments will be applied: Brief Pain Inventory (BPI) to characterize pain, Roland–Morris Disability Questionnaire to measure physical disability, Self‐Efficacy Scale for Chronic Pain (AEDC) to assess the perception of self‐efficacy related to pain control, other symptoms and physical function, Scale and SF‐36 (Medical Outcomes Study 36 – Item Short‐Form Health Survey) Brazilian version, to assess quality of life. After the evaluations, for the follow‐up of the study, patients will be randomized into two distinct groups, called Treated Group (TG) and Placebo Group (GP). • Treatment Group ‐ patients who will receive auricular acupuncture (crystals) and low frequency laser; • Placebo Group ‐ patients who will receive application of microporous tape or auricular acupuncture at points other than those in the pre‐established protocol for the study and low‐frequency laser turned off or non‐laser light. The envelope containing the randomization will be opened and the patient will be allocated to one of the treatment groups. Interventions will be carried out once a week, for two to eight weeks, which will be determined later. The respective auricular acupuncture and low‐frequency laser protocols used will be validated by experts or will be extracted from scientific literature already produced in a previous stage of the research. In the last session, the BPI, Roland–Morris Disability Questionnaire, AEDC, SF36 instruments and the patient satisfaction and perception of th CONDITION: C23.888.592.612.274 Musculoskeletal Pain PRIMARY OUTCOME: With this study, we hope to find data that prove the effectiveness of Auricular Acupuncture and low‐frequency laser in the treatment of pain in patients assisted in Primary Health Care (PHC). From the finding of significance, using the Visual Numerical Scale (VNS) for pain intensity, ranging from 0 to 10 SECONDARY OUTCOME: With auricular acupuncture and low frequency laser, the aim is to positively impact quality of life with the proposed therapy. Based on the finding of significance, using the Abbreviated World Health Organization Quality of Life (WHOQOL‐bref) to assess quality of life, consisting of 26 questions divided into four domains: physical, psychological, social relationships and environment. To calculate each domain, the values for each question will be added together and an arithmetic average will be calculated based on the number of questions INCLUSION CRITERIA: Individuals aged 18 or over; that is accompanied by a Family Health Strategy (ESF); presents availability of place for treatment; who self‐reports pain with greater intensity4 on the Visual Numerical Scale (VNS); in addition, agree to the Free and Informed Consent Form (TCLE)
