Advantages of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Treating SARS

Based upon their clinical experience in the treatment of SARS,the authors summarized the TCM's advantages as follows: Early intervention of TCM can abate the fever and relieve the clinical symptoms more quickly,avoid the use of hormones or lessen their dosage,and remedy their side effects; Chinese herbs effective to activate blood and resolve stasis,soften hardness and dissolve lump can prevent or reduce the formation of pulmonary fibrosis; at the recovery stage,the treatment mainly focuses on enriching qi and yin.
