Effect of electroacupuncture in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (liver-kidney Yin deficiency type) and its influence on the level of serum rheumatoid arthritis related factors

OBJECTIVE: To explore the effects of electro-acupuncture in adjuvant treatment of rheumatoid arthritis [the Yin deficiency（ 阴虚） of liver-kidney syndrome] and its influence on the levels of serum RA related factors in patients. METHODS: 50 cases from September 2018 to February 2020 were selected as the research objects, and were divided into the control group（25 cases, took methylamine） and the observation group（25 cases, received methylamine plus electro-acupuncture） according to the simple randomization method. RESULTS: After treatment, the total efficiency in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group（P＜0.05）. After treatment, the levels of serum RA related factors, including RF, NF-κB, TNF-α and IL-1β, were all decreased in the two groups, and those indicators in the observation group were lower than the control group（P＜0.05）. The Lysholm joint function scores in the groups were all increased, and in the observation group were higher than the control group（P＜0.05）. CONCLUSION: Electro-acupuncture shows significant effects in adjuvant treatment of rheumatoid arthritis（the Yin deficiency of liver-kidney syndrome）, can inhibit inflammation, and enhance joint function of patients.
