The inclusion of non-drug therapy in the Nursing Process for the control of nausea / vomiting and mouth sores in patients with breast and lung Cancer undergoing chemotherapy

INTERVENTION: B01.650.560 Device E02.258 G07.203.100.975 The study will be carried out in the oncology department of Botucatu State Hospital and home visits to patients in the cities belonging to the Polo Cuesta, which comprises 13 cities: Anhembi, Areiópolis, Botucatu, Bochas Conchas, Itatinga, Laranjal Paulista, Pereiras, Pardinho, Porangaba, San Manuel, Pratânia, Torre de Pedras. The population will comprise a total of 70 patients, of these 30 patients with lung cancer (divided into 15 control cases and 15 experimental cases) and 40 clients with breast neoplasms (20 control cases and 20 experimental cases). The participation in each group will be defined by lot. Patients will be informed in advance about the research and the possibility of participating in the study besides being guided about the objectives and ethical issues. Interventions and the questionnaire will be applied after patient or family authorization in cases where the client is not advised, with the intention of expressing acceptance or denial of participating in the study, by signing the Informed Consent Term. Control group (15 patients with lung cancer and 20 patients with breast cancer): consume cold food or at room temperature, drink carbonated drinks, use prescribed anti‐emetic drugs, rest after meals, eat several times a day, use soft toothpaste and soft toothpaste, perform regular toothbrush changes, do not use mouthwashes, rinse cold chamomile tea 3 to 4 times a day, lubricate lips with cocoa butter, keep food pasty or liquid and chilled, and sugary, avoid acidic fruits. Experimental group (15 patients with lung cancer and 20 patients with breast cancer): consume cold foods or at room temperature, drink carbonated drinks, use prescribed anti‐emetic drugs, rest after meals, eat several times a day, use soft toothpaste and soft toothpaste, perform regular toothbrush changes, do not use mouthwashes, rinse cold chamomile tea 3 to 4 times a day, lubricate lips with cocoa butter, keep food pasty or liquid and chilled, and (on the day of ap CONDITION: C00‐D48 C04.588.180 C04.588.894.797.520 E02.183.750 Emesis and mucositis caused by chemotherapy in patients with breast or lung cancer. ; C04.588.894.797.520 ; C34.3 ; C34.2 ; C34.1 ; C04.588.180 ; C50 ; E02.183.750 PRIMARY OUTCOME: The management of emesis and mucositis in patients with breast or lung cancer who underwent chemotherapeutic treatment through the use of ginger tea and mouthwash with chamomile tea, respectively.; It will be evaluated through the collection of data that is performed by telephone to analyze adherence and decrease the incidence of adverse reactions. It was done 72 hours after the consumption of ginger tea and for evaluation of the effect of the mouthwash with chamomile tea and researcher will contact on the 10th day. At the end of the interventions and data collection, a statistical analysis of the data is performed. SECONDARY OUTCOME: Individualized treatment variables may interfere with the study: the impact of interventions according to each type of neoplasm (breast or lung) and the prescribed chemotherapy, personal characteristics of each patient (oral hygiene, oral characteristics or changes prior to chemotherapy treatment , eating habits, pathologies concomitant with carcinoma, parallel therapies). These aspects will be evaluated through oral cavity evaluation and anamnesis, for further comparison of the data and identification of interferences in the study. INCLUSION CRITERIA: Over 18 years of age;both genders;carrier of breast or lung cancer;being in adjuvant or neoadjuvant chemotherapeutic treatment;being the first chemotherapy treatment performed;to be performing the first 4 cycles of chemotherapy in the State Hospital of Botucatu.
