Systemic effects of the pathological germ spectrum of the oral cavity of children and adolescents (0-18 years) with caries - a pilot study

Inclusion criteria: Present and signed certificate of consent from parents or legal guardians. Exclusion criteria: Children without valid declaration of consent by parents or legal guardians. K02.9 K04.6 Q24.9;Dental caries, unspecified;Periapical abscess with sinus;Congenital malformation of heart, unspecified;K02.9;K04.6;Q24.9 Group 1: Children and adolescents aged 0-18 years with caries with general disease and with manifestation of dentogenic fistula/(incipient) dentogenic abscess who need to undergo oral rehabilitation under general anaesthesia. 1st appointment as part of the oral rehabilitation under anaesthesia: o Detailed examination o ICD diagnosis o Collection of 2 saliva samples (cheek swab; culture and microbial DNA analysis) o Collection of 2 blood samples (CRP & microbiome analysis) 2nd appointment (follow-up appointment 3 months after oral rehabilitation under anaesthesia): o Detailed examination o ICD diagnosis o Collection of 2 saliva samples (cheek swab; culture and microbial DNA analysis) Group 2: Children and adolescents aged 0-18 years with caries without general disease and without manifestation of a dentogenic fistula/(incipient) dentogenic abscess who have to undergo oral rehabilitation under general anaesthesia. 1st appointment as part of the oral rehabilitation under anaesthesia: o Detailed examination o ICD diagnosis o Collection of 2 saliva samples (cheek swab; culture and microbial DNA analysis) o Collection of 2 blood samples (CRP & microbiome analysis) 2nd appointment (follow-up appointment 3 months after oral rehabilitation under anaesthesia): o Detailed examination o ICD diagnosis o Collection of 2 saliva samples (cheek swab; culture and microbial DNA analysis) Group 3: Children and adolescents aged 0-18 years with caries without general disease and with manifestation of a dentogenic fistula/(incipient) dentogenic abscess who have to undergo oral sanitation under general anaesthesia. 1st appointment as part of the oral rehabilitation under anaesthesia: o Detailed examination o I DMFT value By means of a hypothesis-based evaluation, within the framework of a prospective randomised study, it is to be investigated whether there is a connection between an altered oral flora and the occurrence of a general infection.
