Treatment of retroperitoneal varicocelectomy and the traditional Chinese medicine for subfertile man with varicoceles

OBJETIVE:To investigate the effect of the traditional Chinese medicine on the patients with male subfertility caused by varicocele,who had been treated with retroperitoneal laparoscogation operation. METHODS :86 patients were divided into two groups:control group and experimental group. Patients in experimental group took traditional Chinese medicine,Shengjing Zhuyu Decoction. All patients were followed up every 3 months,totally 24 months.Sperm analysis and pregnancy of their spouses were observed during the follow-up period. RESULTS: The indicators of the patients in experimental group were significantly improved in 6 months. Significant difference was found out between the two groups(P0.01). CONCLUSION: Surgery is the first choice for subfertile men with varicoceles,assisting with traditional Chinese medicine could improve the potentia generandi significantly.
